Colours of Wine

Colours of Wine is a beautifully evocative portrait of wine making in the Languedoc region of southern France, with stunning images from the area of Saint-Chinian, one of its rising stars.

Denis La Touche's photographs capture the changing seasons and the rhythm of the vineyard cycle with its many facets, conveying a profound sense of people and of place.

About the book

The progression of the wines from the Languedoc region has been remarkable over recent years, as has been noted and reported by wine writers and wine lovers around the world. There have been numerous articles and books which have remarked on this progress, but few which show the terroir from which these wines come.

Denis La Touche has lived within the Saint-Chinian wine appellation since 1992. This book is his visual impression of this terroir and everything that it comprises.

Enter into the lives of the wine producers and their families, at home around the kitchen table or in the tasting room, working in the vineyards and in the wine cellar, at the local fete or pursuing their leisure activities.

Explore the dramatically beautiful vineyards and landscapes of the Saint-Chinian appellation. Discover the magic and mystery, the passion and pain that go into making this superb wine.

This book is a visual feast for those who love wine and natural beauty; a fine tribute to the appellation Saint-Chinian.
